Wine description
The history of this wine begins in the 20th century, on the mythical territory of Fontfroide. Located in the heart of the Corbières appellation, Cuvée 100 sublimates the Carignan, the emblematic grape variety of the region. From a hundred-year-old plot of land first cultivated in 1920 by Paule Bertrand, Cuvée 100 reveals the best potential of its terroir and the unique know-how of the Bertrand family.

Vinification and ageing
After hand-picking at optimum maturity from plot-by-plot the Carignan grapes are harvested as whole bunches, then whole bunches, followed by de-stemmed Grenache grapes Grenache grapes. Following whole-grape maceration for Carignan for the Carignan and in the traditional way for the Grenache, the juice undergoes controlled fermentation at a temperature 26-27°C, with 10 to 15 days of cuvaison. Finally, the wine is aged in French oak barrels for a further for 18 months.
Tasting notes
Deep purple color. The nose has aromatic complexity, blending dried flowers and spicy notes. On the palate, aromas of black fruits and spices express our terroir to the full. This wine is full-bodied, rich and dense but with infinite softness. Barrel aging for 18 months accompanies the wine, bringing complexity and length.
